The Rules of Hockey

Hockey is always changing and adapting its rules to keep up with the times. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) sets the rules for all forms of hockey, including Outdoor, Indoor and Hockey 5s. You can find the latest rules and any updates on the FIH website.

Hockey Australia have also created a Bluffer's Guide that you can download; it’s a short guide designed to introduce you to the main rules of the game.

Local Regulations

Regulations for local competitions are provided by Hockey Victoria. The regulations are updated each year.
