About

DHC Women's Section

The women's section of the Doncaster Hockey Club is made up of 6 teams ranging from Premier League to Metro 3 that accommodate players of all skill levels and expectations.

The club has had a team in the top women's league since 1983 (except between 2005-07). The women's Premier League 1 team (previously called State League 1) side won the premiership in 1988,1989 & 2015. Since the club's inception we have produced two Australian players, numerous Victorian senior players, and several Australian junior players.  Currently we have Hayley Padget, Sam Snow and Meg Pearce (all home grown) selected in the 2016 National Development Squad. Madi Ratcliffe has also earned a Hockey Australia Scholarship and is currently playing in the Australian Hockeyroos. Hayley Padget, Sam Snow, Madi Ratcliffe and Meg Pearce are also playing in the AHL for the Victorian Vipers. With a strong link to the junior section we expect this tradition to continue.

Importantly, we have sides for all abilities and are proud of each and every one of our players. We especially welcome players returning to the sport or those having a go for the first time. There are opportunities to play or support and coach the teams. The women's pennant A (3rds) won their premiership in 2015 & 2016 and Metro teams won flags in 2013 & 2016. We have a strong coaching structure for all sides we look forward to an inclusive and bright future.

The excellent junior development combined with support from senior players offers a supportive and inclusive environment. Excellent coaching, mentoring and administration is crucial to help grow and develop the club as a whole.

The women's section relies on a number of volunteers to ensure teams  are organised, umpiring & canteen commitments fulfilled and social  funtions are set up. If you are interested in assisting in any way  please contact Andrea Snow.
