Support Needed

Putting the health issues to one side, COVID-19 has come at a huge financial cost

Along with many sporting clubs in Australia, Doncaster Hockey Club has been impacted heavily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, we can confirm that there is no prospect of the Club ceasing to be an entity due to financial pressures in the short term, however, we are facing associated costs with running and developing the Club into the future.

To clarify earlier communications, we are seeking contributions to support the programmes run so far in 2020 season and to allow us to retain and develop our club resources in order return to activity once conditions allow. We have now added a tax-deductible option.

What we need support with?

We still have significant activity associated with running and developing the club over the next 12 months:

  • Development of a summer hockey program when conditions allow
  • Rolling out and integrating the Well-being initiatives across the broader club
  • Web site development and rehosting
  • Resourcing for 2021 season

How can you help?

There are several options where you can contribute what you feel comfortable with given your individual circumstances.

  1. Team App FEES & MERCHANDISE 2020 contribution
  2. Club Account EFT
  3. Fees refund reductions
  4. Australian Sports Foundation-(Capital works) (Tax deductible)

3.    Fee refund option:

If you already paid your season fees, and choose not to seek your entitled full refund you can use this form to nominate how much you would like the club to retain.

Doncaster Hockey Club is not a registered DGR (deductible gift recipient), but for those seeking to make a tax-deductible donation to the club, you are able to do this through the Australian Sports Foundation ‘GO FUND ME’ page. Contributions received through this portal can only be allocated towards Doncaster Hockey Clubs capital works projects rather than club operations.  However, every amount received will help offset overall club costs.

Doncaster Hockey Club capital works projects?

  • Change room upgrades to provide female friendly change rooms – this program is due for completion this year with funds already allocated through State & Local Government funding and a contribution from the club
  • Installation of a digital multimedia scoreboard and technical bench- due for completion this year and a project we committed to 2 years ago
  • Annual Ground replacement fund
  • LED flood light upgrades

4.    Australian Sports Foundation (ASF)- Go Fund me (Tax Deductible)

The club has identified a new scoreboard/technical bench/player dugout as being a capital works priority for the club. This project was identified 2-years ago with some funds already raised, however due to the pandemic we have been unable to raise the balance of the funds for this during 2020.

We aim to complete this project in 2 stages.

Stage 1-Multi-media Scoreboard- To date-we have received a donation from Bendigo Bank of $45K towards the scoreboard and are committed to install the scoreboard ASAP but we now have a shortfall of $50K. The scoreboard will provide options of a powerful marketing, relay important messages to members and supporting player & coach education.

Stage 2-Tech Bench/player dugouts $40K– (to be located in the far side of the ground)- The Tech Bench and new player dugouts will bring us up to HV League Entry Criteria standards and will ensure safety of our officials and players.

Use link below to donate and receive a tax-deductible receipt.

Thank you

We are exceedingly grateful to the donations that we have already received in the last few days, and would like to encourage you all to consider any contributions that you are able to make during this difficult time as a way of supporting the Doncaster Hockey Club.

Please stay safe and connected.
