All the best to Josh and Hayley

Doncaster’s Josh Simmonds and Hayley Padget are currently in town and playing for the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos in the initial FIH Pro League.  The FIH Pro League starts in Melbourne on 2 February and is a new annual global home and away league involving the world’s leading hockey nations. The Pro League effectively replaces the Champions’ Trophy and the World League Finals.

Josh has been selected in the Kookaburras and Hayley in the Hockyroos for the first of Australia’s Pro League matches.  The Australian men and women are up against the Netherlands on Saturday 2 February and Belgium on Sunday 3 February.  All these matches are at the State Netball and Hockey Centre.

Obviously, it is terrific to see Josh and Hayley back in town and what better way to see them than playing for the Kookaburras and Hockeyroos against some of the best international teams.  These matches will be something special for Josh and Hayley.  It goes without saying that to play for one’s country is a highlight but this will be the first time Josh and Hayley will play for Australia in their home town.

We wish Josh and Hayley and their Australian team mates all the best as they start the Pro League matches.

Hockey Australia announced the Kookaburras team today on its website.

The Hockeyroos team was also announced today.

Tickets for this weekend’s matches can be booked via the FIH Pro League website.
