Due to popular demand the club has decided to resurrect the 6 A-Side day that has proven to be a great social day for players and spectators alike. 

The traditional format will return and will be enhanced with a junior (U 11 - U13 inclusive) program to be added.  So get the word out and encourage your family and 2011 team mates to register. 

Put Sunday 1^st April in your calendar as a must and start getting into shape, as it is an opportunity for players of all standards and ages to
test  their skill against other members, get to know other club members and kick off the 2012 season with a bang. 

Veterans get a chance to learn a few tricks from some of the juniors, SL men get to appreciate the skills that the women posses and some of the beginners get a chance to mix it up with family and friends in a low key game environment.  

We also hope to run a 4 a-side program for minkey and U9 players on the day.  

The rules and format of the day are pretty straight forward (see below) and it will cost $10 per player ($5 per U13, 11, 9 & Minkey) and this will include a BBQ (snags & burgers) lunch and some surprise entertainment for the kids. Refreshments will be available through the canteen and bar.   

The  Program is:

10.00 am         U11 - U13  6 a-side (arrive 9.45am)  

10.30 am         U9 & Minkey 4-a side 

11.30 am        Whole Club Photo. We hope to get as many members as possible, in uniform there for a club photo on the field.

12.00 pm        U15, U17, senior men & women and vets 6 a-Side competition  

4. 30 pm         6 a-side final 

So plan to make a day of it and start the season with a fun day that will ensure you will be fully prepared for season 2012.

Doncaster 6 A-Side Rules:

• Players that nominate are allocated into teams that can include players  from all parts of the club (Vets, Dist, Metro, Pennant, State
  League & juniors).
• The teams have about 7 players with 6 on the ground at any one time.
• Goalies are encouraged to participate but may play on the field also
• The games are played across the field with 3 games going at a time.
• The games go for approx 2 x 10 minute halves and each team may play about 4 - 5 games depending on the number of players.
• 2 pools with the top placed teams after the round robin in a playoff for the perpetual trophy
• Men are not permitted to hit at goal
• Goals can be scored from any where.
