All the very best for your next challenge Josh

Doncaster’s hearty congratulations to Josh Simmonds who has been elevated to the National Senior Men’s Squad.  The National Squad includes just 27 players, so Josh is now right on the edge of earning a Kookaburra cap, a huge achievement.  Hockey Australia announced the new Squad on its website.

It goes without saying Josh’s inclusion in the Kookaburra Squad is a step back for Doncaster as we now lose Josh who will move to live in Perth within the coming weeks.  All the best Josh, we trust you will settle into Perth and warm to your new city.

While this step up is a significant one, Josh is not at all unfamiliar with national and international hockey.  Josh is now a senior member of the successful Victorian Vikings in the AHL, he has played in the Australian Under 21 team that played in the 2016 Sultan of Johor Cup in Malaysia and later that year in the Junior World Cup.  In 2017 Josh was added to the National Development Squad.

We wish Josh all the very best for his next challenge.
