Boys Night In Enjoyed by All

A great night in

The Doncaster Hockey Club culture has always encouraged our young players to enjoy their hockey and feel right at home, off the pitch as well.  On Thursday night the Boys Night In session aimed to build relationships between our young players and senior players from across the Club and create a sense of belonging.  It was a terrific night, enjoyed by all.

Our senior players not only play senior hockey but are working or studying full time.  Our juniors are also studying and often have other school activities so a week disappears very quickly.  Boys Night In is the ideal opportunity for our seniors and juniors to spend time together, get to know each other, share some sound ideas and have some fun.

On Thursday evening 75 of our junior players from our Under 12, 14 and 16 teams went to the Boys Night In session.  They were joined by 9 of our junior boys coaches and 17 of our Premier League Squad players.

The group just about the enjoy Boys Night In

Kiran Arunasalam, Josh Simmonds and Callum Storey presented to the group talking about how they overcame disappointments and why Doncaster has been a great backup club to them in the good times and the hard.

Josh, Kiran and Callum all spoke to the group with some great thoughts

The boys also took on some team table tennis, played Celebrity Heads and all enjoyed some lovely pasta and sushi.  That was a lot of food, the boys certainly have an appetite!

Dinner - a highlight

Once again the Club is most appreciative of the support for the Boys Night In provided by our Gold Sponsor Bendigo Bank.  And events like this don’t just turn up on the evening; we would like to pass on a huge ‘thank you’ to Sue Sturrock our Junior Section Chairperson for organising the event.
