2020 Premier League Coaching Appointments

Congratulations to Maria Romagosa and Wayne McIndoe who have been re-appointed as Premier League Coaches for the Women and Men (respectively) for the 2020 season.

We are also excited to announce the appointment of our Premier League Assistant Coaches-Mark Taylor, Karla Barrett and Cam Janky.

Taylor will take on a new role as Assistant Coach for the Men, while Barrett and Janky have been re-appointed for the Women.

Mark Taylors’s role as MLP assistant coach will be in addition to his current position as Club Coach Director.

The DHC executive are very proud of the high calibre and quality coaching panel and we look forward to a promising 2020 season.

Maria's hockey experience is extensive having represented Spain at both Junior and Senior levels including:

  • 2000 Debut Spanish National team
  • 2002 World Cup  - Australia
  • 2006 World Cup  - Madrid (4th position)
  • 2008 Olympic Qualification – Baku (Winner)
  • 2008 Olympics – Beijing
  • 2013 World League 3 - London
  • 2013 European Cup – Belgium
  • 2015-17 Doncaster HC Junior Development Officer
  • 2015 WPL Premiership player
  • 2 years WPL coach, and 1 year WPLR coach

Maria will aim to develop skills, a strong team culture and excellence both on and off the field.


Wayne brings outstanding qualities and a breadth of experiences as a New Zealand Blackstick’s Captain & player and Premier League coach

Wayne’s experiences includes:

  • New Zealand (Blacksticks) Men’s Team 1998-2005 (111 caps)
  • Olympian – Athens Olympics 2004
  • Commonwealth Games Silver Medal Manchester 2002
  • Senior Leadership Group New Zealand (Blacksticks) 2000-2005
  • New Zealand Blacksticks Captain 2005
  • NZ Premier League Coach
  • 2016-2019 Doncaster Mens Premier League Coach


Mark Taylors coaching experience is extensive and includes:

  • Under age Victorian teams Head Coach
  • Victorian Vipers Asst Coach,
  • Victorian Under 18 Mens Coach,
  • 4 times WPL Premiership coach (Greensborough 3, Doncaster 1)
  • 3 years Womens Premier League Coach- Doncaster
  • 2 years Coach Director- DHC



Karla Barrett’s coaching experience includes:

  • Under age Western Australia State Coach
  • Sports Coding Level 2 qual
  • Level 2 Coach accreditation
  • AHL player for WA
  • 2 years Womens Premier League Reserve Coach- Doncaster
  • Acting WPL coach 2019-DHC


Cam Janky’s coaching experience includes:
