Summer Hockey 2011-12

The Junior Section of the Doncaster Hockey Club is running a range of summer hockey programmes that are specifically designed to cater for all levels of junior hockey, from beginners
of all ages to representative players.

The programmes are as follows:

Hook in2 Hockey

This is a programme designed specifically for young players (5 to 12 years old) that have not played hockey before. It introduces the game of hockey in a relaxed, friendly and non-competitive environment. Hook In2 Hockey will be conducted in October between 5.00pm and 6.00pm- dates to be confirmed

Junior Summer Hockey 2011-2012

This is a 7 players per team small ground intra-club competition. This is ideal for all levels of players, particularly those who have completed the HookIn2 Hockey programme, new players
or those who wish to keep their skills up. 
Age groups for Summer Hockey are from 7 years old through to 15 years.

This is also an ideal way for newer players to hone and develop skills in preparation for the winter
pre-season training for season 2012.

This will be held on Wednesday evenings on the following dates between 5.00pm and 6.00pm for 11 years old and younger, and between 6.00pm and 7.00pm for 14 years old and younger.

Indoor Hockey 2011-2012

Indoor hockey competitions are held for Under 13, 15 and 17 age groups. 
The Under 13 and 15 are intra- club (with some other clubs) competitions are played at the Whitefriars School in Park Road, Donvale.
The Under 17 competition is a Hockey Victoria inter-club competition. (dates and venues to be advised)

Indoor hockey for Under 13 will be held on Friday evenings between 5.15pm and 7.45pm (games will be rostered throughout this time).

Indoor hockey for Under 15 will be held on Monday evenings between 5.15pm and 7.45pm (games will be rostered throughout this time).

Umpire Development

The Summer Hockey Program is an ideal opportunity for young players to develop their umpiring skills in a non-competitive environment.
Players will be mentored during the small sided games and can work towards the Community (Level 0) accreditation.  This development is aimed at players who have played hockey for a minimum of 2 years. To register your interest to umpire email Andrea Snow andrea.snow@doncasterhockeyclub.com.au
