DHC Junior's Section

The Doncaster hockey club has a long successful history at junior and senior level. We are one of only a few Victorian clubs to have teams in the highest grades in both junior and senior competition. We have produced five Olympians , several Australian and numerous Victorian junior and senior women and men players. We expect this tradition to continue and provide a pathways document which all keen junior players and parents should read.

In otherwords, if junior players are looking for a club that is built on over 40 years of history that provides players of all levels of skill with an opportunity to enjoy the game of hockey, with exceptional facilities (wet/dry synthetic ground & modern club rooms) and a strong social core you need look no further.

The aims of the Doncaster Junior Hockey Club are:

  • Enjoyment
  • Participation
  • Develop and improve skills
  • Learn the rules of the game
  • Develop sportsmanship
  • Understand the importance of teamwork and team commitment
  • Field competitive teams
  • Have and maintain teams at highest level in each age group

The success of our junior program is ultimately judged on the quality of players that move into senior ranks. As such, high quality development of our junior players is more important than junior premierships.

The Winter Season commences in early May.

Trainings for Under 10-Under 18 begins early March.

Trainings and sessions for Minkey and Under 8's also begins early March.

All junior players need to be registered. This will help with the organisation of teams, ensure that players are insured, and of course the membership fee helps to run the Hockey club. For registration details (click here)
