Juniors
The Doncaster Hockey Club prides itself on providing a welcoming club environment that fosters personal development along with a strong technical hockey development program for players at all levels and Junior age groups – from first time players to regional/state and national level players.
Parents of players are actively encouraged to be part of the club, and provide vital input, support and encouragement.
Doncaster will enter teams in the following age groups in 2012:
- Under 9 - Mixed
- Under 11 - Mixed
- Under 13 - Mixed
- Under 15 - Mixed and girls
- Under 17 - Mixed and girls
These teams are coached by volunteers from within the club. These coaches are supported through a set of development programmes co-ordinated and developed by Victor Romagosa who is the club's professional Junior development officer. Victor has coached at National Junior level in Spain, and State level in Australia and brings with him a wealth of expertise, ideas and international exposure. Victor takes on this role for what will be his 6th season in this position and there is no doubt that the impact and devlopment of players under his guidance along with the many other quality coaches at the club, is why Doncaster continues to be the benchmark for other junior clubs to follow.
Victor is ably supported by Sam Snow (National Under 21 and National Hockey League representative) as Assistant Junior Development Officer.
The success of the Doncaster Junior Section depends heavily on support from all sectors of the club and community and welcomes input and participation from any interested persons.
